Lincoln man found not responsible by reason of insanity in McPhee Elementary break-in

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln man accused of breaking into McPhee Elementary School with a knife last year was found not responsible by reason of insanity.

Tshering Tobgyal, 27, was initially charged with terroristic threats, burglary and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. On Jan. 20, a court found Tobgyal not responsible by reason of insanity on all four charges.

The Lincoln Regional Center will further evaluate Tobgyal’s mental condition and create a treatment plan. A court hearing is scheduled for March 27 to determine whether Tobgyal is dangerous to himself or others.
