Light snow into the evening before we warm up into February

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Good evening! It was a bitter start to the day today with temperatures near or below zero for many, and wind chills of -10 to -20 for central and eastern Nebraska. Temperatures will stay cool into tomorrow morning before we see a warm up to start the new month. We look to stay dry for the first week, but could see some precipitation chances return into the middle of the month.

Tonight/Tomorrow: A band of light snow is moving through central Nebraska and will continue to move east into this evening. Snow accumulations will stay low with up to an inch possible in the Tri-Cities and Lincoln, and potentially up to 2 inches to the north. Temperatures tonight drop back into the teens with low 20’s across western Nebraska. We warm up tomorrow with highs in the 40’s for many, then mid to upper 50’s to the west and southwest. Winds will stay light with partly cloudy skies which will make for a beautiful Sunday.

Monday Through Thursday: Temperatures stay in the 40’s Monday, with some 50’s to the west, but mostly cloudy skies return to the area. We look to stay in the 40’s to low 50’s Tuesday and Wednesday. A small chance of precipitation returns Tuesday night where we could see a few snow or rain showers, but we’re not expecting much. Temperatures skyrocket into Thursday with widespread highs in the upper 50’s to mid 60’s. Breezy conditions return Thursday and likely continue into next weekend…
