LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Nebraska State Patrol trooper narrowly avoided being struck by a sliding car Thursday as icy conditions triggered a series of crashes on Interstate 80 just west of Lincoln.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP), two troopers were assisting stranded motorists when an out-of-control vehicle dove into the scene, crashing into one of the vehicles already pulled over. Video released by NSP shows the troopers and travelers standing just feet away as the car skidded through the area.
Despite only light snowfall, troopers reported numerous slide-offs in a short span of time. NSP said at least three vehicles lost control within about 15 minutes…
