Documents allege Lincoln husband, daughter knew of child’s torture but failed to report it

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln woman’s husband and daughter have been charged after court documents allege they were aware of the torture and neglect of a 12-year-old boy occurring in their home.

Makenzie Watkins, 20, and Joseph Lowe, 44, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree child abuse, first-degree assault and false imprisonment.

In court Wednesday, a judge set Watkins and Joseph’s bond at 10% of $750,000. Prosecutors requested $1 million bonds for each, but the judge lowered it to match Angela’s bond.
