Death penalty possible for Lincoln man accused in murder of missing Stromsburg couple

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The death penalty is on the table for the Lincoln man accused of murdering his half-brother and his wife who was 32 weeks pregnant.

Sterling James, 24, and his wife Sayde Titus, 22, were arraigned in Lancaster County Court on Thursday. They’re accused in the murder of Hannah Neville, 26, and her husband, Roberto Tanner, 27, a Stromsburg couple.

James is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree murder of an unborn child and tampering with evidence. He is being held without bond, and his murder charges carry the potential of the death penalty.

Titus is charged with two counts of accessory to murder, one count of accessory to murder of an unborn child and tampering with evidence. Her bond was set at 10% of $1 million.

Neville and Tanner were reported missing to authorities last week…
