LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – Gov. Jim Pillen has selected the Platte County Attorney to fill the fifth district judicial seat vacated by Judge C. Jo Petersen, who retired last fall.
According to the news release from the governor’s office, Breanna D. Flaherty of Columbus has served in the county attorney’s office since 2012. As Nebraska’s fifth judicial district judge, she will serve the counties of Boone, Butler, Colfax, Hamilton, Merrick, Nance, Platte, Polk, Saunders, Seward, and York.
Flaherty also teaches criminal law and criminal procedure as an adjunct instructor at Central Community College in Columbus; and is a board member of the Centro Hispano Comunitario de Nebraska and the Columbus Optimist Club; and coaches mock trial attorneys for Scotus Catholic School…
