Central Nebraska school closes as nearly 30% of students call out sick

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A central Nebraska school closed its doors this week after nearly 30% of its student population called out sick.

Shelby-Rising City Public Schools is currently experiencing a significant surge in illness. On Tuesday, the pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade school had 113 students absent, representing 28.75% of the student population.
