Local businesses come together in protection of neighbors

In support of the Lincoln community, local businesses came together on Jan. 30 to protest against the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Across the nation, local businesses closed for the day or donated parts of their daily earnings to charities in support of immigrants. It was known as a “national shutdown” in response to the fatal shootings of United States citizens by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

People from all over the country were demanding that ICE agents be removed from their positions for killing innocent citizens. Boycotts broke out across the nation to oppose the intensified immigration enforcement…
