LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – With Lent underway, St. John the Apostle Catholic Church is among the fish fries popping up across Lincoln for the next six weeks and volunteers are preparing to feed the crowd.
Organizer Brady Wetzel said preparation begins well before the doors open.
“It really starts at about 11 o’clock in the morning,” Wetzel said. “We have a group of ladies come in from our altar society — great group of individuals, men and women start at about 1, 2 o’clock, start frying the fish. Doors open at 4:30. Normally our first customers are at about 4:15.”…
