During Super Bowl weekend, a water main burst just outside Gaylord at the 9th & Boswell Intersection.
The pipe burst majorly disturbed the pavement above, causing the whole road to be closed off. To fix the water, all of the adjacent roadway had to be cleared off. The actual repairs required water to be shut off temporarily in Gaylord on Feb. 18. The City of Crete does not have a clear answer for when it will be fixed, and there also isn’t an explanation as to why it burst in the first place.
