UNL’s Center for Great Plains Studies to host future-focused conference March 31-April 2

LINCOLN, Neb — The Center for Great Plains Studies will mark its 50th anniversary this spring by convening an annual conference that looks ahead to the next half-century of change across the region.

The “Great Plains Futures” conference is scheduled for March 31-April 2 at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Organizers say the event will celebrate the Great Plains’ past while focusing on the future of the people and land of the region.

Billed as an interdisciplinary conference, the event will include keynotes, panels, workshops and special events organized around four themes: environmental futures, reimagining the rural, Indigenous futures, and demographic change and migration.
