LINCOLN, NEB — A major investment in the future of the arts is underway in Lincoln as the Lied Center for Performing Arts begins a $35 million expansion and renovation project.
Leaders broke ground Feb. 10 on the privately funded project, titled “Building the Future.” It marks the first major renovation in the venue’s 35-year history.
The project includes an 11,000-square-foot addition featuring a new 100-seat studio theater designed for K-12 students, University of Nebraska-Lincoln performances, workshops and community events. A new entrance along Q Street will include an updated ticket office and expanded lobby space…
