Man arrested after reportedly fleeing Lincoln police with three children in vehicle, LPD says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man was arrested after he reportedly fled police with three children in his car on Saturday, Lincoln Police said.

LPD said officers were called to the Gateway Mall parking lot, near 6100 O St., at 8:52 p.m. to a report that a man was driving and doing donuts. When officers attempted to stop the driver, later identified as 33-year-old Devontai Luellen, he drove off.

An Nebraska State Patrol helicopter tracked the vehicle to 78th and Pioneers Boulevard, where the vehicle’s driver and three children, none older than 13, transferred to another vehicle.

According to LPD, the driver of the second vehicle was a friend of Luellen who didn’t know about the previous pursuit…
