LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln man has been accused of stealing more than $250,000 from a woman with dementia who was under his care.
Larry Giebelhaus, 65, was arrested Thursday after the Lincoln Police Department received information reporting that he was late making payments for the woman’s stay at a memory care facility and had an outstanding pharmacy bill, court documents show.
The woman was diagnosed with dementia in 2020, and in May 2023, he was named her permanent guardian and conservator, the arrest affidavit stated. The woman was admitted to a memory care facility on May 27, 2023.
