‘If at first you don’t succeed’, Waverly school District hope smaller bond price tag wins votes

WAVERLY, Neb. (KOLN) — After failing to pass a nearly $90 million bond issue in 2024, Waverly School District is once again asking community members to say yes, this time with a $64 million price tag over 20 years.

Waverly is the second district in Lancaster County to put a bond issue on the ballot for the upcoming May election. Norris is asking for a nearly $35 million 20-year bond issue.

The bond focuses on four main areas: moving offices to front entrances in most buildings for enhanced security, expanding career and technical education opportunities, updating HVAC systems and adding early childhood classrooms…
