Lincoln woman accused of assaulting officer during DUI arrest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln woman allegedly assaulted an officer Tuesday afternoon while being arrested for a DUI.

Just before 4:15 p.m., a Lincoln police officer on routine traffic patrol saw Eliana Rosas, 35, driving and determined she had an outstanding warrant.

Once she parked in front of her home near North 21st and Holdrege streets, the officer contacted her. According to police, two children got out of the car, and one was still seated inside.

Police said Rosas showed multiple signs of impairment and gave the officer a false name. She then got out of the vehicle and as the officer attempted to take her into custody, she pulled away and continued resisting arrest, ripping his microphone and body-worn camera from his duty vest, according to LPD…
