The Swanson Auditorium was filled with the sound of buzzing clippers and a capella groups harmonizing on Friday as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s National Residence Hall Honorary shaved 11 heads, marking yet another successful year of fundraising for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
“What’s cool about it and what I think makes it a little bit different from other childhood cancer research foundations is that we do head shaving,” Laila Doyle, senior nutrition science and dietetics major and NRHH president, said. “People come up on stage, they raise funds and shave their heads in solidarity with children who are fighting against cancer.”
