Lincoln Transportation and Utilities is advising residents of a street improvement project planned for Cornhusker Highway in northeast Lincoln, expected to begin this spring.
The project will cover about 1.8 miles of Cornhusker Highway, from roughly 37th Street to just east of 56th Street (L55X). Work will include resurfacing, curb and sidewalk repairs, drainage improvements and upgrades to meet accessibility standards. Crews will also replace the traffic signal at the Superior Street/Havelock Avenue intersection.
An eastbound lane of Cornhusker Highway between 35th Street and Havelock Avenue will close on Monday, April 6, to begin this work. The project is expected to be completed by winter 2026 at an estimated cost of $6.65 million, funded through a mix of federal and local sources…
