Nebraska’s Berlyn Schutz breaks school record at Stanford invitational

On Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4, seven Nebraska Track and Field athletes traveled to Palo Alto, California, for the Stanford Invitational. The Huskers joined 304 other teams for the event.

Junior Berlyn Schutz set a school record in the women’s 5000-meter run with a 15:39.38 time. Schutz’s run breaks Sammie Resh Gdowski’s 15:51.44 run from 1990.

Sophomore Gabe Nash placed third in the men’s 800 with a 1:49.45, 1.29 seconds behind first place. Nash also picked up fourth in the men’s 1500 with a 3:47.84…
