LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — If you drive down Havelock Avenue between 60th and 70th streets you likely have driven past a large carved wooden sculpture of an eagle. But within the last week, it’s no longer there.
The original carving was done in 2019 by Nate Hall, owner of 3 Timber studios, but it recently began rotting from inside the former tree, causing it to become unsafe; the head even fell off.
Hall and current owner Roberta Cox decided it should be taken down because of safety concerns.
After Cox received numerous inquiries about where the sculpture went and the stories she has heard from people who loved it, she knew it had to be replaced…
