Taser deployed after man threatens neighbor with gun at Lincoln home, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Taser was deployed after a man threated his neighbor with a gun at a home in Lincoln on Wednesday, police said.

According to court documents, Lincoln police were called to a house near 32nd and Orchard streets on the report of a disturbance. LPD said a man called and said his neighbor had threatened him with a firearm.

When officers arrived, police saw the suspect, 44-year-old Jason Gaines, outside the house talking to another person. According to court documents, officers attempted to detain Gaines at gunpoint due to the possibility of him being armed. Gaines reportedly refused to follow direction, backed away from officers and ran from the scene.

Officers caught up to Gaines and once again told him to get on the ground. Court records stated that Gaines refused, and a Taser was deployed. Gaines was taken to Bryan Health West, where he was evaluated, released and then taken to Lancaster County Jail…
