Huskers Set for In-State Battle at Omaha

The No. 6 Nebraska softball team is set to head to Omaha to take on the Mavericks in the final midweek matchup of the year. NU is No. 6 in the NFCA poll after a sweep of Wisconsin. A new NFCA poll has not been released following NU’s sweep of Minnesota. The Huskers are tabbed No. 1 by Softball America, whose poll came out on Monday, No. 4 by USA Softball and No. 5 by D1 Softball.

First pitch on Tuesday, April 21, is set for 6 p.m. (CT).

Last weekend, the Huskers went to Minneapolis, Minn., and posted a dominant sweep of the Gophers. NU won by scores of 4-0 on Friday, 17-2 (five innings) on Saturday and 11-2 (six innings) on Sunday. The Big Red’s 17 runs on Saturday were a season high, and the game included grand slams from Jesse Farrell and Hannah Coor. It was the first time Nebraska had hit two grand slams in the same game since 2022. Jordy Frahm went 2-0 in the circle over the weekend with a 0.00 ERA, while Alexis Jensen was 1-0 with a 1.75 ERA.
