Ceresco Man Arrested For Pursuit Through North Lincoln, Northern Lancaster County

LINCOLN–(KFOR May 7)–A Ceresco man has been arrested following a pursuit late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning that stretched from north Lincoln into northern Lancaster County.

Nebraska State Patrol spokesperson Cody Thomas tells KFOR News that around 8:30pm Wednesday, a trooper on patrol along Interstate 80 near the I-180 interchange in northwest Lincoln saw a BMW sedan speeding at 95 mph in the 65 mph zone. A traffic stop was attempted by the trooper, but the driver accelerated and took off eastbound, which led to a pursuit.

Thomas says the sedan reached speeds over 160 mph on I-80 before exiting at the 56th Street interchange and headed south. As the car was coming into Lincoln, the pursuit was called off for public safety reasons. However, a few minutes later, another trooper saw the same vehicle heading westbound on Cornhusker Highway between 70th and 56th Streets and the driver fled again. The pursuit resumed and continued on northbound 56th Street/Highway 77 and another trooper successfully laid out stop sticks to slow down the car…
