Northwest principal closes chapter alongside students

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Hundreds of Lincoln Public School students will be getting their high school diploma this weekend, marking the next chapter of their lives, but it’s not just the students going on a new adventure.

It’s a full-circle moment for Cedric Cooper, the principal for Lincoln Northwest High School. He’s been the principal at Northwest since the school opened in 2022.

“I very vividly remember the first day of school coming into the school and we had a tunnel by our door 18 where the students were coming in just because there was still some construction going on,” Cooper said…
