Springdale Har-Ber High School student-athlete struck by vehicle

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — 16-year-old Erren Wilson is recovering in a Little Rock hospital after being struck by a vehicle on the side of the interstate late Saturday night.

He suffered numerous internal injuries, but according to his mother, Shamika Wilson, he has made “a huge turnaround” since first being flown to Little Rock from Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville.

Shamika tells KNWA/FOX24 her son had gotten out of a car on the side of I-49 near the Bobby Hopper Tunnel when he was struck by a passing pickup truck. The driver of that vehicle reportedly stopped and is not suspected of doing anything wrong. Arkansas State Police is investigating.

According to Shamika, Erren is still listed in critical but stable condition. He suffered contusions to both lungs, lacerations to his liver, a broken clavicle, and lumbar transverse fractures to his third and fourth lumbar vertebrae…
