Little Rock officer faces charges in Benton case

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- A Little Rock police officer who has been relieved of duty following an alleged incident in Benton is facing reduced criminal charges, according to authorities.

On May 14, Michael Wilbanks was relieved of duty pending the outcome of an investigation related to an alleged incident in Benton. At the time, Wilbanks was charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Officials say the Little Rock Police Department has employed Wilbanks since November 2011.
