LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — What began as a late-night security alarm at Mercy Church in Little Rock ended with a large police response and a renewed call from church leaders to address mental health and homelessness in the community.
Pastor Terrance Long said he had just returned home Tuesday evening after overseeing air conditioning work at the church when he received a call from the church’s alarm company reporting a disturbance in a back hallway.
