Saline County committee to work toward better Animal Control Ordinance in meeting June 17th

Saline County government seeks a better animal control ordinance, and a committee has formed to do something about it. Read more below.

The Animal Control Ordinance Committee will meet for the second time on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom #2 at the Saline County Courthouse.

This temporary committee was formed to review Saline County’s current Animal Control Ordinance adopted in 2010. It consists of the following members:

  1. Tricia Powers, Bryant Animal Control Director
  2. Justice of the Peace Rick Bellinger
  3. Justice of the Peace Carlton Billingsley
  4. Justice of the Peace CJ Engel
  5. Justice of the Peace Jim Whitley
  6. Justice of the Peace Wilson Hatcher
  7. Saline County Prosecutor Chris Walton
  8. Saline County Deputy Peter Powell
  9. Ann Sanders, Humane Society of Saline County Director
  10. Terry Parsons, Benton Animal Control Director
  11. Zach McCauley, McCauley Services (including animal/pest control)
  12. Saline County Judge Matt Brumley
