LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas and the Little Rock District Office for the Drug Enforcement Administration said a multi-state investigation culminated in central Arkansas on Tuesday with 23 arrests and 120 pounds of methamphetamine being seized.
U.S. Attorney Jonathan D. Ross and DEA Special Agent in Charge Warner “Brooks” Benson said the arrests and seizures were the result of an investigation into Little Rock and North Little Rock methamphetamine trafficking, labeled “Operation Return to Sender.”
Operation Viper nets 39 arrests across Arkansas
The indictment was unsealed Tuesday and named 23 defendants accused of extensive methamphetamine trafficking. Officials said 16 of the defendants are scheduled for a Thursday plea and arraignment hearing.
Four of the defendants are already in custody, and two remain fugitives, officials said…
