THURSDAY: A cold front will continue to sag southward through the course of the day; highs will drop back into the lower to middle 90s for most, but spots in east Arkansas and northwest Mississippi could still see upper 90s, A few afternoon storms will be possible, generally along and south of I-40 could produce damaging wind gusts. Lows will drop into the 70s to start off early Friday as storms gradually fade through early Friday morning.
FRIDAY: Rain chances taper off early Friday as drier, more seasonable air tries to settle in. Expect partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s north; middle 90s south as the frontal boundary continues to hang around the region. Lows will fall back into the 70s for most; a few 60s could mix in north and east.
EXTENDED: With the stalled front nearby – expect a split with highs cooler north/east of the boundary and staying plenty hot and humid south/west of it. Our weekend with highs in the lower to middle 90s and manageable humidity – though, a few chances for storms could mix in late Saturday near the boundary. Heat begins to rebound early next week, with shower and storm chances returning Monday and Tuesday.
