MAUMELLE, Ark. – Cat lovers gathered at the Maumelle Community Center on Saturday as the Crown Jewel Cat Club kicked off its Royal Cat Show, featuring breed competitions, agility demonstrations and pet adoptions.
The event includes cats competing for titles through the Cat Fanciers’ Association, with breeds such as Maine Coons, Bengals and others on display throughout the weekend.
Organizers said a portion of proceeds from the show benefits local animal rescue groups, several of which are attending the event in hopes of finding homes for adoptable cats. Three cats were adopted during Saturday’s activities.
