A legal fight over government transparency in Arkansas has ended with an unusual turn. The state’s top law enforcement official asked a judge to dismiss his own lawsuit against the prison board he had accused of operating in secret.

According to Mountain Home Observer, Judge Tim Fox has dismissed the case after receiving a request from Attorney General Tim Griffin.
The outlet reported that Griffin initially alleged the Board of Corrections violated transparency laws during its hiring of attorney Abtin Mehdizadegan and the firm Hall Booth Smith.
Griffin’s request to dismiss the case comes after a settlement was reached between Griffin and the board.
