Subsurface South Arkansas: Union and Ouachita county wells plugged

Recent reports filed with the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission relating to permits issued; well completions, recompletions and workovers; and the plugging and abandonment of oil, natural gas and saltwater brine (bromine and lithium production) in South Arkansas.

Three abandoned or inactive oil wells in Ouachita and Union counties were plugged in August under the oversight of the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission, according to commission plugging records.

In Ouachita County, the Andrew Green No. 2 well in the Elliott South Field was plugged August 14, 2026. The well, operated by Dan Reynolds Company of Camden, had a total depth of 2,350 feet and targeted the Nacatoch formation. The well is located in Section 1, Township 15 South, Range 17 West…
