Ex-Arkansas State Rep. Austin McCollum’s wife granted 2-year order of protection

BENTON COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The wife of former Arkansas State Rep. Austin McCollum has been granted an extended order of protection by a Benton County judge, according to court documents.

Records show that on Aug. 25, Judge Xollie Duncan granted McCollum’s wife a two-year order of protection in the case filed against him earlier this month.

McCollum, 35, resigned as a state representative on Aug. 5, just days his arrest for alleged domestic violence.

He was arrested on Aug. 1 for third-degree battering, aggravated assault on a family or household member and first-degree false imprisonment charges. McCollum was released on Aug. 2 after posting a $10,000 bond…
