LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – For low-income expectant mothers doula care is set to become more accessible. Medicaid will begin covering doula care after the Arkansas legislative council approved the new rules which were laid out in the Healthy Moms Healthy Babies Act.
Doulas aren’t medical providers but serve as advocates for mothers as they go through their pregnancy journey.
