FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Department of Veterans Affairs says it is awarding more than $13 million in grants to assist organizations helping homeless veterans in Arkansas.
The department said in a news release that four organizations serving veterans in the Natural State are receiving a combined $13.4 million in grants, including the St. Francis House in Little Rock and the Volunteers of America of North Louisiana.
“VA medical centers across Arkansas remain committed to ensuring Veterans have access to safe, stable housing and the supportive services they need to thrive,” Dr. Martha A. Smith, Executive Director of Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, said. “These grants strengthen our partnerships with community organizations and help us reach Veterans where they are, providing resources that make a meaningful difference in their lives.”
