A possible school shooting was prevented in Arkansas last month because of an anonymous tip line started by Sandy Hook Promise, the group announced — noting it was the 20th possible shooting the non-profit has thwarted.
On Aug. 10, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 14-year-old boy and charged him with with threatening to commit an act of mass violence on school property, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement sent to PEOPLE.
The student, whose name has not been publicly disclosed because he is a minor, had allegedly posted threats on several social media platforms including “been thinking about shooting up a school…I have a gun, a plan, a list…” per the sheriff’s office…
