The report showed changing trends in home construction and population growth in central Arkansas.
Little Rock declares housing crisis as federal scrutiny exposes deeper issues
With housing affordability and housing markets remaining a national discussion point, Metroplan officials said the organization examined future housing demand across central Arkansas. The study found the region added 15,300 households between 2020 and 2025, a faster growth rate than during 2015-2020.
Based on current demographic and economic trends, Metroplan forecasts the region will add another 15,800 housing units between 2025 and 2030. Looking further ahead, Metroplan officials said central Arkansas is projected to gain about 106,000 residents by 2060, bringing the population to 886,000…
