The family of a man who initially went missing while hiking in Arkansas has created an online fundraiser for the good Samaritan who found him.

Matt Teeters was hiking in the Eagle Rock Loop near Albert Pike in the Ouachita National Forest when he vanished on Sept. 23 after he was separated from his cousin, CBS affiliate KTHV reported. His disappearance prompted a massive search that began that day and continued into the night.

Word of Teeters’ disappearance reached Ashley Lea Smith, who decided on the morning of Sept. 24 to take the day off from work and find Teeters with her dog, Buckey, since she was familiar with the territory, according to KTHV…
