“I need some help.” – Arkansas State Police trooper shows selflessness for stranded motorist on freezing night

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A heartwarming moment happened on a freezing Saturday night between an Arkansas State trooper and a distressed stranded motorist.

State Trooper Brandon Bird came across what he thought was an abandoned vehicle on Interstate 40, but after a closer look found an older man inside who was disoriented and out of gas.

In the video shared by ASP, the man tells Bird he has been stranded for several hours and just needs help.

“Trooper Bird’s compassion and care were on full display as he reached out to the man’s family, who lived on the other side of the state, to ensure they were aware of his condition,” the release said.

The dashcam video released by ASP shows Bird reassuring the man he is in no trouble and is going to get him a hotel room to “turn the heater on and watch some T.V.” to which the obviously distressed man said “Okay. I trust you.”
