Arkansas ‘Slumlord’ in Trouble Again Over Tenants’ Rights Ordered to Pay $20,000 By AG

Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin has recently taken decisive action to reopen a consumer protection lawsuit against a ‘landlord aka slumlord’ based in Central Arkansas, who has a track record of facing legal troubles related to several unsafe rental properties that he owns.

AG Griffin said that the landlord, Imran Bohra, and his company, Entropy Systems Inc., have violated the terms of the settlement that had previously resolved over a year ago. Griffin’s predecessor, Leslie Rutledge, initiated the lawsuit against Bohra and his company in 2019, citing allegations of deceptive business practices.

Eventually the suit settled in September 2022 requiring Bohra and Entropy Systems pay a fine of $20,000 if they are found to have knowingly rented houses or apartments with outstanding code violations. Bohra is notoriously known for renting run-down rental houses riddled with ‘Failure to Repair Life Safety Violations’ to low-income people in the Little Rock area.
