SHERWOOD, Ark. – Sherwood police said Tuesday that they have arrested a man who has been accused of attempting to kidnap a child in a grocery store parking lot Monday night.
According to the Sherwood Police Department, authorities received a 911 call saying that a man was inside a woman’s vehicle at the Walmart Supercenter located at 9053 Highway 107 just after 7 p.m.

Officials said the caller told them that the man was attempting to take a young girl.
After arriving on the scene, officers said that the child’s mother told them she had put her daughter inside the vehicle before noticing a man inside under clothing. She told officers that she began yelling at the man and reached for her daughter, police said.
The mother told officers that she was able to get her daughter out of the vehicle after a short struggle, police said.
