Little Rock police arrest suspect in 2022 deadly shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Police in Little Rock have arrested a man in connection with a 2022 shooting that left one person dead.

Officers with the Little Rock Police Department arrested 58-year-old Odell Hampton Jr. Thursday for his involvement in an April 2022 shooting that happened on the 1800 block of West 18th Street.

LRPD: Victim dies in 18th Street shooting

During the incident, police said they found 50-year-old Harry Jackson lying face down in the parking lot. Jackson was later transported to a local hospital where he died.

At the time of the incident, police said the suspected shooter was taken into custody for questioning, but was released shortly after, according to the police report.

Hampton is facing a charge of capital murder. He is currently being held without bond at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility. He is schedule to be back in court at the end of March.
