Second of two wanted for murder arrested in Ohio

(WKBN) – The second person wanted for an out-of-state murder was arrested in Ohio late last week.

The U.S. Marshals Service said that Stephen Johnson, 27, was arrested in Cleveland Friday in the shooting death of 21-year-old Avron Britton, of Little Rock Arkansas.

Britton’s body was found lying in the street on November 27.

This marks the second arrest of a person wanted for murder charges outside the state of Ohio within 24 hours. Thursday, members of the task force arrested Davonte Childs who was wanted for murder in Georgia.

“Northern Ohio is not a safe haven for fugitives wanted for murder. The officers that make up our fugitive task force take pride in protecting the streets of northern Ohio, by taking violent fugitives, no matter where they are from, off our streets,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.

Last month, U.S. Marshals announced they were looking for a North Carolina man accused of killing his wife who might be in the region.

Police in North Carolina are looking for 50-year-old Donald Ray Hodges. He also goes by the names Tyrone Evans and Unique Hodges.
