Driver in crash that killed KARK 4 News reporter Haven Hughes arrested, facing negligent homicide charges

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Police in Little Rock said the driver of the car involved in a 2023 crash that took the lives of two people, including a KARK 4 News reporter, has now been arrested.

Officials with the Little Rock Police Department said 47-year-old Chandria Stigall of Little Rock was taken into custody on Wednesday.

Officers said Stigall was driving a vehicle in the 9400 block of Stagecoach Road on Jan. 16, 2023, that was involved in a crash with a motorcycle being driven by 34-year-old Mark Hudson of Little Rock. Hudson was taken from the scene with life-threatening injuries and died days later.

A passenger on the motorcycle, 22-year-old Haven Hughes, died at the scene. Hughes was a reporter for KARK 4 News and FOX 16 News.

An affidavit from LRPD investigators claimed detectives had Stigall provide a urine sample while questioning her immediately following the crash.

The report went on to say that the analysis of the sample from the Arkansas State Crime Lab returned positive for methamphetamines, cocaine, opiates, oxycodone, marijuana and more illegal narcotics.
