LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After he was shot multiple times during a robbery, the family of 39-year-old Daniel Casey said they are grateful he is alive.

LRPD officials said Casey, who was working at a Shell gas station at 2620 65th Street, was shot four times during a robbery just before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Daniel’s older brother David said he wasn’t sure if his brother was going to make it or not but is thankful that he did.

David Casey said he believes the person who shot his brother “was trying to kill him.”

“From what I heard, whenever he (Daniel) got the cash register opened, he (the suspect) shot my brother then reached over the counter to grab the money and shot him three more times,” David Casey said.

David said Daniel lost around seven pints of blood and was left fighting for his life.

“At first they did the damage control surgery and then did surgery to reconnect everything and then did another surgery to finish it up and close it up,” David Casey said.
