Arkansas State Police troopers locate child taken from Michigan, arrest father

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police said they located a child after the father was accused of illegally taking him from Michigan earlier this month.

Authorities said that the Oakland County Michigan Sheriff’s Office notified Arkansas state troopers that they were tracking a vehicle stolen from their jurisdiction on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Special agents said Michigan authorities told them that 40-year-old Daniel Onoh took the vehicle and his son without permission from the child’s mother, who has legal custody.

ASP officials said they located the vehicle on Interstate 530 near Sweet Home. Troopers said they were aware that the child was in the vehicle so they boxed in the vehicle on Interstate 30 just west of Geyer Springs Road.

State troopers said the child was safely removed from the vehicle and reunited with mother.
