AR State Police use mental health training to stop 2 men threatening to jump off bridges

Little Rock, Ark (KATV) – On Tuesday, Feb. 6, Arkansas State Police (ASP) troopers saved two people suffering from severe mental health crises, they said. According to a press release, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office called ASP requesting help with a man who ran from officers, climbed onto the railing of a nearby bridge, and threatened to leap into the Black River. The incident occurred near Black Rock on Highway 412.
