LITTLE ROCK, Ark. ( KARK ) — Arkansas State Police say they have found a child whose father was accused of illegally taking him from the Detroit area earlier this month.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office notified Arkansas state troopers that they were tracking a vehicle stolen from southeast Michigan Saturday, Feb. 3.
Special agents said Michigan authorities told them that 40-year-old Daniel Onoh took the car and his son without permission from the child’s mother, who has legal custody.
Arkansas troopers said they spotted the vehicle on the highway near Little Rock and followed it. Troopers said they knew the child was in the car, so they boxed it in.
Troopers said the child was removed from the vehicle and reunited with his mother.
Onoh was jailed on a charge of felony theft by receiving, held on a $150,000 bond. Police also noted that he has a misdemeanor warrant out of Texas.
