FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Arkansas finds itself among the least educated states, according to a new study from WalletHub.
To determine the most educated states, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 18 different metrics that examined the key factors of a well-educated population: school quality, educational attainment and achievement gaps between genders and races.

Arkansas ranked as the fourth least educated state with Louisiana, Mississippi and West Virginia ranking lower than the Natural State.

Arkansas was ranked in the bottom five in the percentage of associate’s degree holders or college-experienced adults, percentage of bachelor’s degree holders and percentage of graduate- or professional-degree holders, according to the study.

Massachusetts topped the list as the most-educated state with Vermont, Maryland, Connecticut and Colorado rounding out the top five.
